SOUTHERN REGION OFFICIALS RECOGNIZED WITH AWARDS AT THE 2009 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Gordon West of Florida was awarded the Fred Wiley Award as the outstanding Driver at the AWSA Nationals. Gordon is fixture among the tournament scene in Florida and has been at the wheel at World , National, and Regional records.

Tommy Newman of Tennessee received the Tommy Bartlett Award as the outstanding Announcer at the AWSA Nationals. Tommy was a last minute fill in Announcer and produced some of the best commentary during the tournament. Tommy is a National caliber 3 event and won the Men 4 Jump event at this years Nationals.

Laurie Lindsey of Florida was recognized as the outstanding Safety Director at the AWSA Nationals. Laurie is a club member of Okeeheelee and in between her duties went out and won this years Women 4 Slalom National Championships.

Jerry Jackson of Georgia dedicated hard work behind the scene and was awarded the outstanding Technical Controller at the AWSA Nationals. Jerry competed in the Men 4 Slalom event at this years Nationals and ran 1.5 @ 38 off.
